Ready to Rumble?, is a mixed media installation displayed on green and white, reclaimed Astroturf and consists of a large number of footballs resting on tees, (all printed in camoflauge colors with images of military equipment silhouettes, such as aircraft carriers, tanks, F-14's, bombs, apache helicopters etc.) arranged to form the readable letters, U.S.A.
This work implies that the U.S. Military is as much a part of American culture as is football, one of our favorite sports pastimes. It also represents that we are a formidable global force to be reckoned with and suggests that the questions of: When, how and to what extent we use our military power? are important ones, worthy of many weighty conversations.
