Death, in general, is an obvious key element in The Iliad. The importance of human lives versus the God’s immortality and ability to play with human lives, is a constant struggle. Homer makes it clear that human lives are precious by giving every character that dies a brief biography. The Bones They Took and Placed in a Golden Urn, a mixed media printed Artist quilt, addresses this struggle by referring to past wars and every day life but also connecting it to a Contemporary perspective.
