IRREVOCABLE,
Maria Cristina Jadick,
Artist Statement
Irrevocable, is a mixed-media installation that addresses the subject of the Death Penalty. Viewers are invited to walk within the confines of a 6ft X 10ft cinder block rectangle to experience first hand the restrictive and limited space Death Row Prisoners live in 23 of 24 hrs, every day, for the remainder of their lives. The piece isn’t trying to impose an opinion, just create a space and experience for personal reflection and perhaps a re-thinking of opinion. In the least, hopefully it instigates discussion about a human life or death matter.
