The following installation was created for exhibition on the tenth year anniversary of 9/11. 
 It is both a tribute as well as a cautionary commentary.

The following art pieces are a visual evocation of the subject of human displacement.  They broadly address the issue while alluding to the associated suffering that results from border disputes, natural and manmade disasters, political chaos, economic disparity, poverty, famine  and battle for natural resources.  My work serves as a basis for discussion as it can be viewed from many perspectives.  Displacement is a topic worthy of our attention in terms of understanding causal factors and finding potential remedies

Increased global competition for diminishing supplies of fossil fuels, particularly in the Middle East, along with greater indications of worldwide climate change, together sound a wake-up call for recognition of the need to conserve energy and push for immediate development of better alternative and sustainable energy sources.  Will perpetual war result if mitigating actions are not undertaken?  The following works consider it...

Fearing for the future safety of my two teen-aged sons as our country engages in war on multiple fronts, I made work premised on a perceived need for greater public discussion about U.S. foreign policy. The following work explores the seductive and contradictory impressions inherent in the use of nationalistic symbols and American iconography.  Making metaphoric associations using gridirons, football, grilled steak and mid-eastern country maps, I constructed tableaux that posed questions and  launched conversation about U.S. foreign policy.  See the following  representative photos...
